At School with Parmigianino While
waiting to join the great Exhibition at the National Gallery in Parma,
a smaller exhibition entitled "Committenti e Copisti" (Clients and Copyists)
can be seen at the Castle, including reproductions from the Boselli
room and carvings by Bresciani. But the organiser's attention is mainly
focused on the schools. What better way to help you understand Parmigianino
than to dirty your hands with colours and paints. Soon we will be opening
the fresco laboratory, three days a week at least for the first year,
and open for booking for school groups. Fresh plaster will be spread
by master craftsmen and paints will be available to give free run to
your imagination, entering the magical world of this |

Master. Available for the nursery and junior schools in the area (Fontanellato
and Fontevivo) with some knowledge of the artistic heritage of the Castle,
courses will be available from the New Year with the support of the
Toschi Art Institute in Parma. And other gem is being worked on: a shuttle
bus between Parma and Fontanellato, to run alongside and strengthen
the existing transport services. And, "dulcis in fundo", we must say
this final sweet touch comes in the form of the "Flavour Memories",
to be held on 23rd August 2003 (by the Castles Association of the Dukedom
of Parma and Piacenza), which this year could be called "Parmigianino's
Last Supper", (the painter died on 24th August, 1540). What a marvellous
way to welcome this great return of the Master Francesco Mazzola.
